PASARC is also currently working on a project ‘Smart Procurement, Supply Chain and Distribution of Medicines at Government Health Facilities’ signed between PASARC, Shahid Javed Burki Institute of Public Policy (BIPP), and the Sub-National Governance Program, funded by UK Government in the Office of the Secretary, Government of the Punjab Health Department, Lahore on June 1, 2015. Using ICT, the Project aims at ensuring efficient delivery of medicines and related health facilities to local people in the target areas of Sheikhupura District.

The automated inventory control will insulate health services against false procurements; reduce inventory management failures; and result in financial savings. It will also generate accurate Early Warning on spread of epidemics besides accurate patients Health Records Management. Availability of reliable health data and patterns of diseases with demographic information can be used for future evidence based policy formulation.
